Dear ANZBP members and colleagues,
|
Welcome to
the latest newsletter of the ANZBP. We are looking forward to the
start of an exciting year, with opportunities for ANZBP
members to participate in events, collaborate with colleagues and
contribute to key decisions at state, national and international
levels, helping shape the biosolids industry for years to come.
The ANZBP
board have entered the business planning phase for 2016/17 and
would like to hear what areas you want ANZBP to prioritise
over the next year. We are keen to support the most cutting
edge research proposals and advocate on your behalf to tackle our
industry’s most pressing challenges. I hope therefore you will take
some time to participate in our member survey which will drive our
work over the coming year.
After a
break for part of the previous financial year, we are pleased to
announce that you will be receiving regular ANZBP communications to
ensure you are fully updated with ANZBP opportunities and
activities. If at any point you would like to speak to a member of
the ANZBP team, you are welcome to contact us via admin@biosolids.com.au

Launch of the ANZBP Literature Compendium 2016
|
We are pleased to announce the latest update of the ANZBP Literature
Compendium (2016). The Literature Compendium catalogues all of the
biosolids research papers over the past 10 years. This comprehensive
database enables you to have up-to-date access to research from
across the industry, readily searchable by title, institution, author
and subject area, and ranked according to the publication's status,
i.e. whether the document is peer reviewed.
Additionally, a summary report
on the state of research and leading edge developments within
relevant fields has been developed for quick reference. This report
also identifies research gaps, which helps to inform future research
for both the ANZBP and our members own research efforts.

compendium please log into the members’ site

Publication of the 2015 National Biosolids Survey
results
|
The 2015 biosolids survey results
are now available. The survey reviewed the production and use of
biosolids across Australia with details on production volumes by each
state, how biosolids are stabilised and dewatered, and the end use.
This biennial survey provides the most accurate information on
biosolids production, processing and use in Australia, and forms a
key part of communication around biosolids with the public and
government stakeholders.

Anaerobic
Digestion – Sustainable Biosolids Management
Anaerobic digestion has emerged as one of the leading methods for
biosolids conditioning, as it produces a better quality product, has
relatively low cost components, and is well established. As a
process, it is well understood, and simple. However, much of this
knowledge has not been widely taught, and there is still a perception
that anaerobic digestion is a difficult process.
In this course,
IWES will dispel this, as well as other myths, and show that
anaerobic digestion is a simple, robust process, that is easy to
design, operate, and control for a high quality gas and solid
product.
