ANZBP Chemicals of Concern Report 2017

Driving discussion on PFAS risks and regulation

In 2017, ANZBP members contributed to a nationwide examination of the presence of PFAS in biosolids; sharing data from sampling programs from over 100 sites across Australia.

The resultant reports, authored by Kelly Hopewell of Gold Coast Water and Waste and Paul Darvodelsky of PSD seek to drive discussion on PFAS risks and regulation during a time of uncertainty around this important topic.

The summary report provides a snapshot of the research, making recommendations for a future direction of travel on this theme.

The more detailed research report (with the summary provided in the front 11 pages) shares the basis for these recommendations and examines the current knowledge around the impact of this suite of chemicals and the nature of the regulatory structures in place at present.

If you would like to discuss any of the findings in the reports, please contact ANZBP Board member, Kelly Hopewell.
